Antwerp Pride city activation

Since 2008, Antwerp has been organizing the Antwerp Pride on a yearly basis. with the goal to promote the city as LGBTQ+ friendly. For the 2023 edition, the city of Antwerp asked The Other Agency to help them out with a memorable activation. An activation that resonated with the Pride, connected to the visitors and fitted perfectly within the city’s atmosphere.  

Together with the team of the city of Antwerp, KMSKA and RapidMedia, we created a water basin in front of the KMSKA museum spraying water in the air. From the museum, we aimed a laser into the water spray to visualize an ever moving rainbow.
During the entire Pride-week, from 9:30PM to 1:00AM, the rainbow was shown in front of the museum.

Let’s be honest, it looks amazing, right? And that’s not just our opinion, it’s the opinion of the thousands of people who saw it and got a smile on their faces when looking at it. People massively took pictures and videos to send it friends and family or to share it on their social media channels.

With over 140.000 visitors, is was the biggest Pride ever in Antwerp.

All partners involved look back at this activation as a great succes. Not just operationally between the different teams, but with the impact it created during the Pride.
